The AEF Girls Inspired project is a bespoke ASDAN accredited course that runs over 12- weeks in selected secondary schools across Essex and Thurrock for young females (11-16yrs old).
Each course can vary dependent on needs of the school, presenting issues and challenges faced by young females and agency input.
The Girls Inspired project, is a bespoke project delivered in selected secondary schools and community locations across Essex. Specialist sports and mentoring coaches work with young females 11- 25 years who are identified as vulnerable to exploitation or criminality.
The project aims to:
- Increase positive mental health and self-esteem
- Increase understanding of risk-taking behaviours and vulnerabilities
- Build resilience and create a safe environment to achieve a sense of belonging
- Provide greater awareness of the dangers of social media
- How to stay safe in the community
- Raise aspirations in education and inspire young leaders
- Provide learning and post course access to low-cost opportunities
